PRP therapy is a form of regenerative medicine, which takes advantage of the blood’s natural healing properties. The procedure involves extracting and isolating platelets and plasma from a sample of your own blood, which is then concentrated into a healing solution. This platelet rich solution can then be injected into the dermis to build collagen and improve the structure of the skin promoting tissue formation and reducing inflammation. PRP Therapy may also provide a lubricating factor, and is used in a wide variety of medical specialties. Today PRP helps patients heal faster and avoid more radical or invasive treatments.
What is PRP Therapy and How Does it Work?
Treatment
As with all treatments at our clinic, we require a preliminary consultation with a member of our highly qualified staff. During this time, we will review your concerns, treatment expectations, current skincare regimen, price estimates, and a brief overview of your relevant medical history. We use this information to ensure we are able to give you the results you are looking for with realistic expectations. We will collect one small tube of blood. The sample is then placed in a centrifuge where it is spun and the plasma is separated from the rest of the blood. The PRP is then extracted from the tube and prepared for treatment.
