What is PRP Hair Restoration and How Does it Work?

PRP (Platelet-rich Plasma) Hair Restoration Therapy is a non-surgical treatment that utilizes a patient's own blood plasma to stimulate hair growth and improve the overall health of the hair and scalp. The procedure involves extracting a small amount of blood from the patient, which is then processed to isolate the platelets and plasma. This concentrated solution is then injected or applied topically to the scalp, providing a rich source of growth factors that promote hair growth and improve the overall health of the hair and scalp.

Treatment

PRP therapy is a safe and natural way to achieve hair growth and fullness without the need for harsh chemicals or invasive procedures. It is suitable for both men and women, and it can be used in conjunction with other hair loss treatments such as hair transplantation or minoxidil. The effects of the PRP therapy can be seen within 3-6 months of the treatment, and the results can last up to 12-18 months. After this time, the treatment can be repeated to maintain the desired results.

  • The nurse will draw a sample of your own blood, similar to that of a standard blood test. This blood will then be placed in a centrifuge, and spun to separate the blood components. The platelelet rich plasma will then be extracted from the tube. This plasma contains several different growth factors that stimulate hair growth.

The plasma is then injected into the vascular area of your scalp surrounding your hair follicles. There may be several injection areas depending on the size and location of the treatment area. The growth factors in the PRP nourish and regenerate the hair follicle itself, resulting in thicker hair, more hair growth, and less hair loss.
