After-care Procedures

  • •Avoid lying down or bending over for at least four hours after the procedure, as this can cause
    the botox to spread to other areas and cause unwanted side effects.


    • Avoid rubbing or massaging the injection site for at least 24 hours after the procedure, as this
    can cause the botox to spread to other areas and cause unwanted side effects.


    • Avoid exposing the injection site to extreme heat or cold, such as by using hot or cold packs,
    for at least 24 hours after the procedure.

    • Avoid engaging in strenuous physical activity, such as exercising or lifting heavy objects, for at
    least 24 hours after the procedure.

    • Avoid alcohol and other blood thinners, such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), for at least 24 hours after the procedure.

    • Avoid wearing tight clothing or headwear that may put pressure on the injection site for at least 24 hours after the procedure.

    • Avoid exposing the injection site to direct sunlight or UV light for at least 24 hours after the
    procedure, as this can cause the botox to break down and lose its effectiveness.

    If you experience any unusual symptoms or side effects after the procedure, such as difficulty
    breathing or swallowing, muscle weakness, or changes in vision, contact your practitioner immediately.

    It is also a good idea to follow up with your practitioner for a post-procedure evaluation to ensure that
    the botox is working properly, and to discuss any concerns or questions you may have.

    • Apply a cold compress to the treated area for at least 10 minutes every hour for the first 24
    hours after the procedure. This can help reduce swelling and bruising.


    • Avoid drinking alcohol or caffeine for at least 24 hours after the procedure. These substances
    can increase swelling and bruising.


    • Avoid strenuous exercise or activities that cause excessive sweating for at least 24 hours after
    the procedure. Sweating can cause the filler to spread to unintended areas.


    • Avoid wearing makeup or skincare products on the treated area for at least 24 hours after the
    procedure. This can help prevent infection.


    • Keep the treated area clean by gently washing it with soap and water. Avoid using harsh or
    abrasive cleansers.


    If you experience any adverse effects, such as excessive swelling, redness, or discomfort, contact your provider immediately.

  • •Do not touch your face for a minimum of 4 hours.


    •It is recommended to avoid sweaty exercise and sun exposure for 72 hours post-procedure.


    •Avoid washing your face after the treatment.


    •Avoid exfoliation or any alcohol-based toners or skin care products that could result in skin irritation.


    •If the skin feels dry and/or tight, you may apply a hyaluronic acid serum or other moisturizing lotion or cream, after 4 hours.


    •Change your pillow case the day of treatment.


    •Wipe down your phone and/or glasses with alcohol. These are commonly touched by your hands and bacteria may transfer from these to your face.


    •You can wash your face and wear makeup the next day, but it is recommended to wait at least 24 hours to apply any makeup.


    •Apply a sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher the next day (or after you have washed your face).


    •Make sure to wear a mineral based makeup, one that does not contain any oils.


    •Avoid applying any skincare products containing active ingredients for at least 72 hours.

  • • Do not apply any kind of makeup. When you do apply any skin products, remember to wash the brushes carefully to remove any possible infection-causing pathogens.


    • Stay out of the sun and add applications of a broad spectrum UVA/UVB, SPF 25 or greater sunscreen to your skincare routine.


    • Avoid going swimming. Or, any other activity that can cause sweating like a strenuous workout in a gym or yoga classes. Remember, your skin is tender and needs protection as part of the aftercare for Vampire facial.


    • Avoid tanning beds, steam or sauna rooms, jacuzzis, hot showers, or any other activity that involves heating the skin.


    • Avoid any kind of skincare products that can cause damage or peeling. Facials, face massages, and laser treatments are also a definite no-no.


    • Do not take alcohol or blood thinners for at least 6 hours.

  • • Avoid scrubbing the injection sites for at least 4 hours.


    • Avoid applying makeup to the area until the following day.


    • Starting on the evening of the treatment and for the next several days, wash your face gently with a mild cleanser (e.g. iS Cleansing Complex or similar) once to twice daily. After several days, you may return to your regular skincare routine.


    • Avoid direct high heat (e.g. blow dryer, sun, sauna, steam room, very hot shower, hot yoga, strenuous exercise, etc.) until the morning after treatment.

  • • It is normal to experience bruising, redness, itching, swelling and/or soreness that may last from 2-5 days following your treatment. If you experience any pain or discomfort you may take Tylenol or other Acetaminophen-containing products as directed. • You may have a bruise at the blood draw site.


    • You may notice a tingling sensation while the cells are being activated.


    • In rare cases, skin infection or reaction may occur, which is easily treated with an antibiotic or inflammatory. Please contact our office immediately if you notice unusual discomfort.


    • Try to refrain from applying ice to the injected area as ice acts as an anti-inflammatory. Ice or cold compresses can be applied to reduce swelling if required.


    • Continue to avoid aspirin, Advil, Motrin, Iburprofen, Naproxen, Voltaren and other anti-inflammatory medications for 3 days after your procedure (if possible try for 7 days).


    • Avoid vigorous exercise, sun and heat exposure for at least 2 days after your treatment.


    • Do not wet your hair for at least 3 hours after your treatment.


    • For the first 3 days, use shampoo that is pH balanced.


    • Do not use any hair products for at least 6 hours after your treatment.


    • Be sure to take a hot shower and wash your hair that evening, after the treatment, to promote the effects of PRP.


    • Avoid saunas, steam rooms, swimming for 2 days after your treatment.


    • Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and smoking for 3 days after treatment. Smokers do not heal well and problems recur earlier and results may take longer.


    • Avoid resuming Minoxidil (Formula 82M, Rogaine®), hair coloring, and straightening for 3 days.


    • Continue increased water intake the first week after your treatment.


    • Do not use blood thinning agents such as vitamin E, vitamin A,

  • • Drink plenty of cold water for 48 hours after the procedure.

    •Avoid exercise/exertion for 24 hours

    •Avoid excess sun exposure or solarium use for 24 hours

    •Apply ice frequently to the area injected for up to 6 hours after the treatment. This will prevent or help to alleviate any bruising. It will also help to reduce any swelling.

    •You will feel raised ‘bumps’ and raised ‘threads’ on the skin in some areas that have been treated. It is
    advisable to massage the areas gently with a greasy moisturizer or arnica cream 2-3 x daily for 5-7 days. This will ensure that the booster is spread across the deep layer of the skin to create a sheet of product which will attract water to it and hydrate the deep layer of the skin.
